Dress Code
Bowie Fine Arts Academy Dress Code / Standard Attire
To maintain a focused and respectful learning environment, all students are expected to follow our standardized dress code:
Shirts & Dresses:

Collared shirts in red, black, white, or gray

Polo-style dresses in solid red, black, white, or gray (must meet fingertip length requirement)

Sweatshirts (without hoods) in solid red, black, white, or gray may be worn over collared shirts or polo dresses

All shirts must be neatly tucked in.
Bottoms:
-
Pants, shorts, skirts, rompers, or overalls in black or khaki
-
Must be twill material (no denim or jeans except on designated days)

No athletic shorts, pants, sweatpants, or tennis skirts (unless they meet the dress code requirement of fingertip length)

Leggings (black, white, or gray only) may be worn under shorts or skirts
➤ Leggings may not be worn as pants
Footwear:

Athletic shoes must be worn daily

Socks and hair bows may be any color
-
Not Allowed: Boots, sandals, Crocs, or shoes with wheels
Hair & Accessories:

Hair color must be a natural shade

Belts (black or brown) are required for students in 1st–6th grade if pants with belt loops are worn
➤ Belts are not required for Pre-K or Kindergarten
Special Dress Days:
Monday:

College shirt with standard attire bottoms, OR full standard attire
Friday:

Spirit shirt (Bowie, Midland High, Legacy High, Coleman High, or Early College High)

May be worn with jeans or standard attire bottoms
Additional Reminders:

Jackets are not to be worn inside classrooms

Students may wear a Bowie Spirit sweater/sweatshirt or a solid-colored sweater (in Bowie colors: red, black, white, or gray) without a hood

Shorts, skirts, and polo dresses must be fingertip length or longer
-
No rips, tears, or holes are allowed in pants, shorts, skirts, or jeans above fingertip length
-
Hoodies are not allowed
At Bowie Fine Arts Academy, our uniform policy helps create a focused, inclusive, and distraction-free learning environment, promoting school pride, ensuring safety, and supporting equity among all students.
Please make sure your child follows the dress code each day and refrains from wearing items that are not part of the approved uniform.
